The Parkridge catheterization lab also offers stereotaxis, a procedure that uses magnetic navigation to guide a catheter inside the heart for cardiac mapping and treatment of rhythm disorders. Parkridge has performed open heart surgeries for over 20 years, and the advanced technology available in our state-of-the-art Electrophysiology Lab allows doctors to effectively diagnose and treat heart rhythm irregularities. If you have just been diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, the Parkridge cardiac rehabilitation team will teach you how to strengthen your heart with a supervised routine of regular exercise. You will learn more about how to minimize risk factors for cardiac events through changes in activities and habits. Emphasis is placed on controlling blood pressure, smoking cessation, cholesterol and other blood fats, diet and weight control and exercise. The Parkridge Healthy Heart program offers nutritional guidance that includes taking a comprehensive diet history from each patient as well as a diet class facilitated by a Registered Dietitian helping you to begin making better dietary choices.
